Decorating and starting your tween- teen bedroom. Making sure it isn’t babyish. This is usually impossible for many people. My cousin has a really messy room. And for all of you, this is a guide on how to fix up your room!
Bedding
A lot of people add way to many pillows to make it look fancy, but when you sleep, you have to take OUT the pillows. On your bed, just keep 2 pillows in a color you love. For the blanket, it is a good idea to put a comforter or duvet. If you are not sure what color would match the pillows, here are a few popular choices : blue+teal, pink+peach, green+lime… try picking a color with a lighter tone to match. You also don’t need a king sized bed for 1 person. Twin or queen is best. If you have a sibling and only one room, you can do bunk beds.
Desk
A desk is essential for smooth workflow and study. Your desk should be small enough to fit in your room, but big enough to keep all of your items. It should have a drawer/ shelf to store paper, devices, writing tools, and more. If you have a small room, you can get a loft bed, which has a bed on the top and desk/ blank area on the bottom.
Storage
Shelfs are good to have. I keep random items on the bottom basket, books and display items on the others. You can add frilly decor on the sides too. Keep your backpack there. You can also use large drawers for toys and games.
Personalization
Now room room may look blank, but that is why you can personalize it! On a wall, DIY or buy a collage or poster. Add small paintings, photos, and get creative. Be mindful of the tape you use. You can also get a metal plate to add souvenir magnets. Add lamps, fairy lights, and initial lights to keep your room glowing!
