Get Packing! (Winter edition)

In about 10 days, I’m going to India for winter break. I am so excited to travel again, discover the south parts of India, and learn more about ancient Indian history. But the absolute FAVORITE part of every trip is packing! So here is a packing guide with everything you need for a short or long trip.

Small Bag

Carry a small bag to keep passports and tickets safe, like a fanny pack/ belt bag. They should be durable, safe, flexible, and large enough to carry important items, though small enough to easily carry around. I put my security items, sanitizers, wipes, because I need to be hygienic. Also, remember to pack your phone, small toiletries, and LOTION. It can get really dry in high altitudes, so remember a moisturizer! And just whatever you think you need, but not too much, because its better to keep the weight down.

Clothing

I recommend wearing something comfortable, like sweatpants, loose jeans, maybe leggings! Just whatever feels comfortable to you, And don’t wear a skirt or short; I get it, they are super comfy, but a flight is chilly, and you need to insulate all the heat you can get. For a top, I go long sleeve, maybe thermal lining. Wear a sweater or hoodie for chilly times in the airplane.

Luggage

Minimal is maximum success! Pack shirts, pants, shoes, under clothing, and your luggage is packed. Do not try to overpack because airlines really like hidden fees! I decorate my luggage with stickers and keychains so that I know that’s my luggage and I don’t get confused. Take a picture of EVERYTHING in your luggage, so that if it gets lost, you have proof the claim it. And be organized! Invest in packing units and organizers, so thank me later. 🙂

In total, that’s basically the main things you need for a nice, calm, light trip for this 2024 winter. Keep traveling!
