Today, I went on a school field trip to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. When I heard that we were going here, I was really disappointed, because to me, flowers and gardens were very boring. And spending 5 hours there; that would be really annoying. But actually, this was the most beautiful place I have ever gone to, with not just flowers, but different trees, waterfalls, and discovery stops! So now, I’m going to tell YOU why I love the arboretum.
First, I got off my bus, and I was welcomed by trees and flowers. An entrance gate had a stunning butterfly pattern. I walked inside, and a fountain awaited. I started playing in it, as everyone else. Also, its not super crowded, so if you have anxiety, this is a nice place to relax and enjoy nature. Along with water, the area also has a pumpkin patch, but I didn’t go there. Even if you don’t, you can still see many pumpkins around. Also, look out for dazzling waterfalls, because they are perfect for calming sound and aesthetic photos!
Another thing I loved about these gardens were that there were not just things to look at, but also things to interact with! Around the park, you can find magnifiers, zooming in on organisms. This area is good for any age. For little kids, they can interact with rain, the power of wind, gravity, force, and learn more about nature. For older people, its just fun to play and explore with! You don’t have to walk too much to find these parts, and they are spread out.
Love water and mazes? The Arboretum has a maze, filled with many different and colorful plants! From there, you can come across a water globe and more waterfalls! You may also see some birds around here. Its not a very hard maze, but its some adventure! To be honest, while walking around, I felt like Dora The Explorer!
I also love the creativity hidden through the garden! There was a cylinder, and when you spin it, though the holes, you can see an animation of a bird flying! I never imagined that someone could be that creative. You can find a lot of hidden art, such as wood crafting, and finding cool ways to use water to show different natural disasters and weather, such as waterspouts and wind.
There is always area to sit around! Maybe next to some pumpkins, or even a waterfall. I loved taking photos around here! Even if you don’t like plants, you WILL fall in love with this place. Soft breeze, calm environment, plants and flowers, and natural sounds are just why this is just a sanctuary! Honestly, after going here, you will feel ALIVE! And thank you, science teachers, and the school for organizing this amazing field trip!
