Everyone loves graphic novels! They are simple to read, long, and are always interesting! But sometimes, you don’t know which one to select! Here are some of my favorite graphic novels.
Smile – Raina Telgemeier
Smile is about Raina who goes through middle and high school with tooth problems. She struggles making friends and dealing with her tooth problems. I love this book because a lot of people can relate to her and while you read, it feels like your actually IN the book!
Sisters – Raina Telgemeier
This is the hilarious story of Raina and her sister Amara surviving on a crazy road trip. They encounter annoyance, family, and snakes! It also tells a bit about when the sisters were younger, and what let up to everything happening.
Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library – Chris Grabenstein
Escape the library with friends, enemies, and holograms. This is the biggest adventure of your life. Answer questions, win clues, and use all your resources to find the exit! Are you ready to take on the most exciting challenge of your life? Join Kyle and his friends on this quest!
Big Nate – Lincoln Peirce
This is more like a comic book series. Nate Wright and his friends Teddy, Francis, Chad, and Dee Dee. They may survive middle school, start a band, and just have fun! My favorite parts are when Mrs. Godfrey, the social studies shows up because she is so funny and punishes Nate!
New Kid – Jerry Craft
Jordan begins to attend a low- diversity private school. He makes friends and deals with Andy, a racist, annoying kid and his teacher who doesn’t treat him equally. This books encourages readers to always be kind, treat people equally, and try new experiences
The Sunny Series – Jennifer L. Holm
Sunny is a weird tween who just can’t fit in! Her family feels exotic, and her summer can be the worst or the best. Her oldest brother, Dale, used to be fun and happy, but now he is on drugs and is sent off to military school. It is all kind of sad, but you can’t miss it!
Horse Trouble – Kristin Varner
Kate is a horse loving girl. She also has to navigate being big and not perfect. Her family also doesn’t have a lot of money, so she works in the stables to earn her lessons. Jaina, her enemy, is perfect and owns a horse. So when Kate makes Jaina fall at a horse party, would she be a bully?
Thanks for reading! Please note that these books are aged elementary even though anyone can read them! Happy reading!
