A lot of people stress on tests- from unit to SAT, these tips will make sure you will ace the test. From a master test-taker, you can count on me to make sure an A+ is on your paper.
Stay Ahead of the Class
It’s hard to get all the information from 1 class. It’s better to stay ahead. Read higher- leveled books to first understand a bit of the concept, and THEN when the teacher teaches it, you have a clear idea of it. I’ve been staying ahead of the class since pre-school, and it helps a lot. It doesn’t just help you ace tests, but can also get you into special gifted and talented programs.
Don’t Cheat- Really!
Cheating is really bad- you’ve heard from everybody. But WHY is it bad? Well, cheating pushes you to cheat even more. If the teacher catches you cheating, it sets a bad example of yourself to your class and teacher. Even if you are caught and get a good score, you just would have that guilty feeling stuck inside you. You wouldn’t feel proud of it.
The Key of Focus
Focus is key to all tests. Keep minimum materials. The only things that should be out is a pencil, paper, and test. Don’t use mechanical pencils because of the clicker- eraser distraction. Don’t talk to other people, or they might suck you up into the whats-the-answer trap.
I Don’t Know!!!
If you don’t know, still answer the question. Reread the question and highlight key words such as NOT or TOP to BOTTOM. Use process of elimination. If you have two options that you can’t decide which one, pick the option which focuses ONLY on the question- not any side information. Side information can confuse you into not answering the actual question.
The Good Snacks
It really matters on what snacks you bring. You can only preform well with a full tummy. Don’t bring cheesy snacks like cheetos, because they can get messy and ruin your concentration. Sugar can make you feel sleepy and even hungrier. Bring mints, which calm your body. Fruits and granola bars are also good for your mind.
